Case Description

The Captain of the Countryside and a party of officers were sent by the Rectors of Verona to free Libera Relita from abduction by Ser Giacomo Giuran (see Case 4079). Giuran, accompanied by seven or eight men armed with firearms, charged at the officers and forced them to flee with threats. Then they fired on the retreating group's backs which wounded the company trumpeter and killed Bernardin da Sona, a rural officer. The others fled and were pursued. The assailants searched multiple houses for them, stole ten horses from them, and robbed some other possessions.
