Case Description
Bartolomeo and Giovanni Battista Ruffoni threatened Cristoforo Maraggia , Verona's tax collector for the Timber Toll, with murder. They demanded that he yield and transfer the tax's collection to Giovanni Canovino, their godfather and associate. They wraned Maraggia that he should no longer interfere in his own tax office.
Motive
The Ruffoni's wanted to intimidate Maraggia out of his office so that their ally Canovino could take over and seize the money.
