Case #3509
Case Description
Following the assault he committed against Federico Maimero (see case 3508), Giovanni dal Zocco fled to Bolfino. A lieutenant of the territorial militia was sent to find and arrest him by court order. Dal Zocco was hiding in the house of Lorenzo Bertuzzo and his son Giacomo. The lieutenant and his party of court officers broke down the house's doors and attempted to storm the building's staircase. They were met with arquebus fire from dal Zocco and the Bertuzzi and one court officer was hit directly in the head and eventually succumbed to that wound. Despite this and further violent resistance, the lieutenant, along with help from local commune which assembled under alarm bells, apprehended dal Zocco and both Bertuzzi.
