Case #1884
Case Description
Following the deaths from the battle in cases 1882 and 1883, Signor Gaetano Rilloni resolved to avenge the violence against his family on the elderly Virginio Marogna despite not being involved with the battle his sons participated in. Rilloni gathered over 80 people to join his faction and the group was armed with many firearms and sufficient ammunition. The laid siege to Rilloni's house where he was with his four younger children despite the elder brothers involved in the previous day's battle being absent. The assault lasted all day and exerted extreme violence on the property of persons within the house, but despite breaching its outer wall they were unable to force their way into the house itself where Marogna was "half-dead" along with his children and household. The siege was broken by the arrival of nightfall.
Motive
The Rilloni faction was enraged from their inability to apprehend Valerio and Isidoro Rilloni following the previous days battle which mortally wounded the former and killed Girolamo Rilloni.
