Case #1848
Case Description
In the courtyard of the gardener Francesco Cerolaro's house Lord Giulio Garzoni and Bartolomeo Bura came across eachother and due to their mutual hatred began "skirmishing." After threats and lowering arquebuses Giulio fired against Bartolomeo and he responded with his own weapon. Giulio had no other weapons, but Bartolomeo drew a pistol and chased the now disadvantaged Giulio. The commotion drew the attention of those at a dance at Francesco Farina's house. Lord Bernardo and his men, ten in total, armed themselves and joined the pursuit of Giulio. The latter had at that point barricaded himself in a house of his inhabited by Tomasino Arontà. Unable to break down the door of the cottage, Alessandro Orvato shouted for fire to burn down the building. In response, a panicked Giulio tried to flee out of the building but was struck down by two arquebus shots as he opened the door. The assailants returned to ball with Lord Bernardo calling for someone to give the dying man his last rights and Giulio expired soon after.
