Case Description

Signor Teffo Ghisi threatened the merchant Zanobio as he forcefully demanded a lease-loan of 500 ducats. Ghisi offered his wife's, the kidnapped Lady Mariastella Canossi, propety as security. Upon refusing this first forceful demand, Ghisi and four of his thugs went to Zanobio's house a few days later and demanded a loan again with great hostility which the victim refused.

Motive

Ghisi wanted a loan from Zanobio and sought to use threats to get it.
