Case Description
Upon hearing that his sister-in-law, her children, and maidservants had moved into his house while he was away in Padua, Ser Ruberto Foscari committed a violent assault against them. He thre down the doors of teh mezzanine where they had hidden upon his return and entered with a fury. He brutally struck various maidservants and one of their husbands, Iseppo Furlan. He wounded one of the children in the arm and dragged his sister-in-law out from under the bed where she was hiding. He then beat her all over with a whip and abused her with words. He forced her to descend the stairs under a continuous bombardment of whip strikes until she was in danger of death from her wounds.
