Case #1812
Public Insult
Insult
Case Description
After previous failures to coerce and threaten the merchant Zanobio (see cases 1810 & 1811), Signor Teffo Ghisi engaged in a public tirade and defamation of the merchant with blasphemies and heavily insulting words against the person and honor of Zanobio. This caused great public scandal.
Motive
Ghisi was enraged that Zanobio would not offer him a loan (see case 1810) and had locked himself in his house to escape Ghisi and his thugs who were threatening to beat him (see 1811).
