Case #539
Case Description
Domenico and Benedetto, who were both loading up carts with goods with some other carters, got into an argument because both of them had lost their hats, and they only found one hat: each claimed the hat as their own. During the argument, Benedetto punched Domenico four times in the back (kidneys or liver is my guess). Domenico started to walk back to his cart, and made it "two hand spans" before he started crying and vomiting; some other carters helped him onto his cart, and the procession headed off home. Most of them fell asleep in the carts on the way home. When Domenico's cart got there, it didn't stop, and his boss Girollamo shouted down at him and got no response; when he went to wake Domenico up he was dead.
