The Ruffoni brothers Bartolomeo and Giovanni Battista were notorious for their overbearing tyranny on the village of Pescantina. They also maintained their home as a sanctuary for criminals and banished outlaws. To this extent they were convicted and banished for a decade, a sentence they flagrantly ignored.
