Case #3500
Case Description
A man named Rodolfi was murdered by a hired assassin as the culmination of an elaborate plot of many conspirators. Antonio Chiodo was the man behind the murder who hired the assassin and wanted Rodolfi killed. The assassin was secretly housed in the palace of Count Marcello de Pompei for three months while an opportunity was sought. Furthermore, Romeo Montecchio and Ottavio Briani labored to surveil the victim in search of an opportune moment for the killing. Briani also helped finance the assassin's living expenses by giving money to Pompei. Rodolfi was killed on a day in which he visited Count Agostin Giusti's house. Pompei sent the assassin to wait at the church of San Fermo where the victim would need to pass by when leaving and waited for the assassin in a nearby orchard. The assassin killed Rodolfi with a pistol shot and then fired at and missed Baldissera Antonini who pursued him. The assassin was then captured attempting to reach the orchard.
