Case Description
Augustin Franceschi was killed at night in Santa Maria Zobenigo in a planned ambush. Ser Giovanni Battista Bragadin and Ser Carlo Zen conspired together along with an accomplice or knowing party in Nicoletto Stani to murder the said Franceschi. Bragadin and Zen, wearing masks and the attire of zanni, hid themselves outside the victim's house and as he returned home in the evening they surprised him and assaulted him with knives and "other weapons." Zen managed to strike Franceschi with a mortal wound which killed him immediately.
