Case #1877
Case Description
Francesco Preoni was murdered by the brothers Bortolamio and Valerio Merlo while on his way to visit his attorney. They ambushed him in the narrow street where said attorney lived striking him in the groin with arquebus fire and then clubbing him to death with their firearms.
Motive
A longstanding enmity inflamed by the fact that the Merlo brothers had been prosecuted for previously trying to kill Preoni with arquebuses on March 24 having wounded him badly (see case 1878).
