Case #1839
Case Description
Father Fra Mauro was mortally wounded by a pistol shot from behind while walking on a public road in the evening. The victim claimed he saw three unknown men with pistols in total participating in the assassination.
Motive
Possibly due to notorious litigations between the victim and some monks of Val Ambrosiana who tried to take over his monastery and exclude the Teutonics (Mauro being the only Teutonic brother to have survived the plague). Mauro won his case and a term of six months was assigned to the Antonians. The city's population seemingly was in support of Mauro and deeply disturbed by the ambush which mortally wounded him.
