Case Description
Two unknown men armed with pistols attacked Battista Borino who was working in the fields. They asked if he had a mare to sell before surrounding him, leveling their weapons at him, and shooting him in the leg. He was severely wounded in a fashion which threatened his life and required amputation.
Motive
Battista may have cut certain irrigation flows from the Marquis Bentivoglio's property which prompted his son Cornelio Bentivoglio to send the assailants to cripple him.
