Case Description
That Ser Piero Corner accustomed to dressing in the habit of a cleric and Ser Baldissera Corner, his son, of the late Ser Marco Antonio; Absent, but legitimately cited because, having taken it badly that the noblewoman Chiara Barbaro, widow of the late Ser Nicolò Balbi, was having a certain drain or gutter made in the street of her habitation bordering with the aforesaid Corners in the district of San Tomà; Having found the workers of the aforesaid noblewoman working on said drain together with the late Francesco Benettazzo, her factor, on Saturday the 30th of the month of April last past with mason's hammers they badly beat Bortolo the mason; and then the aforesaid Benettazzo, following him as far as the house of said gentlewoman with injurious words from which blows Bortolo was near death, and Francesco Benettazzo passed to the other life.
