Case Description
That said Ser Filippo was holding a quarrel with Ser Mattio Dandolo for an offense done by said Dandolo to one called "Count"; On Friday the 10th of the present month [June] against the word of friendship given by Ser Filippo aforesaid, and confirmed by Ser Zuan Antonio Molin his brother, this Ser Filippo and Malipiero, accompanied by a bravo, went to wait in the Piscina of Santa Agnese, that said Ser Mattio Dandolo should depart from Ca' Venier, where they had seen him earlier and they assaulted him upon the Fondamenta near Ca' Venier while he had departed from said house in the company of other gentlemen to go to accompany Ser Marin Foscarini to the galley; and with the help of Ser Piero Molin aforesaid, who came to their favor with a spear they wounded him gravely in the left cheek also injuring the jugular vein with danger of death; wounding also upon a hand Ser Vicenzo Contarini, son of the late Ser Bratta, who was with said Dandolo.
