Case Description
That Ser Aluise Gritti, son of the late Ser Rimondo, accused; That wanting to enter into the fortress of Legnago on the 7th of the month of August last past but not having a Bill of Health (fede di sanità)...the custodian deputed to this [task] denied him entry for such cause, unless he had license from that Governor; He [Gritti] answered said deputy with words of villainy and of abuse threatening to break an arquebus, with which he was armed, over his [the guard's] head; Nor however the said deputy wishing to consent to him, but having offered to go to notify the aforesaid governor of his arrival; And having set off for that purpose, leaving the order that he [Gritti] not be allowed to enter; This Ser Alvise, on his own authority, and against the will of those guards; With his own hand opened the gate and commanded his coachman that he enter inside with the carriage; While he [Gritti] stood on foot with two [men] who were with him, all armed with long Arquebuses; With whom he has in such manner entered into the Fortress...And having gone through it [the Fortress] as far as the Monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie, where he went to lodge.
