Case Description

that having with snares and artifices made herself the wife of the late Francesco di Franceschi, son of our most faithful citizen Sebastian di Franceschi, steward of the Procurators of San Marco; Repenting then of the aforesaid marriage, and wanting in every manner to dissolve it she arrived at this iniquitous resolution to poison him; She did so in such a manner that her aforesaid unhappy husband died on the 1st of November last past. Furthermore—in the company of others [i.e., Piero Zauro]—ransacked in the time of night the house of the aforesaid Sebastian di Franceschi [her father-in-law]; She opened it with false keys and carried away from him much quantity of goods and precious furniture.
