Case Description

around 4 am, Tomaso and three others broke into Alessandro Matitoli's house by smashing down a wall, and shot Battista three times, killing him, then took off; also shot at Alessandro and a Pellegrino Maveferri, but didn't hit either of them

Motive

in the summer time, Tomaso had a crush on the daughter of an Antonio and would go sing and play guitar outside her window every night; finally this Antonio had enough and rounded up three young lads, including Battista, who waited for Tomaso to show up and start playing so they could ambush him.
