the Maestrale finds a dead woman in the well and assumes she is a Bolognese corteggiana; she and a neighbour were leaving Bo to go Castel Franco and her husband caught up with her and stabbed her repeatedly with a mezza spada

the husband killed her because she was a prostitute.
