- the night before, Alessandro was in a mask heading towards Piazza, and in the mercato infront of the bottega delli Bonfioli, he ran into the Maestro of the Casa Bianchetti, also in a mask, and the Maestro grabbed the asses of two women of good quality, and Alessandro said "what kind of behaviour is that, and what interest have you" and the MAestro replied "it's the behaviour of a galant'huomo" and Alessandro responded "yours is the behaviour of a stray dog" - so I guess wounded pride and status
