Case #3504

homicide Pre-meditated Homicide Fatal

Case Description

Two masked persons snuck into the residence of Signor Fabio Nichelola through an open door and with three volleys of arquebus fire killed his wife, Signora Laura, and her children, Signor Scipione and Signore Cattarina. All three were mortally wounded by the attack and were shot while relaxing by their hearth. Witness reports indicate that the assailants had five or six additional accomplices who kept watch outside. Among them was the one identified assailant, Marquis Ghirofano Malaspina.

Motive

enmity - Signor Fabio Nichelola had been examined as a witness and given testimony in a case against the Malaspina family and their accomplices (it should be noted that Ghirofano's brother Giovanni Carlo was a convicted murderer). This enmity culminated in a public altercation inside Fumane's parish church between the Nichelola family and the Marquis' mother and sisters.
