Case Description
Chiara Zucca, an elderly widow, was tricked through flattery and promises to leave her residence and lodge in Verona with Signor Mar'Antonio Maffei and his wife Margherita. The two then through tricks and coercion retained control over the widow in effect abducting her and removing her free will for three years along with some servants they convinced to join her.
Motive
the perpetrators were seeking to control and influence Zucca's will including taking advantage of her failing faculties, forcing her to draft it with a corrupted notary and Dominican Friar, and enacting various violence and restrictions on her.
