Case #4065

assault Assault Convicted

Case Description

Ser Stefano was assaulted and placed in mortal peril from wounds he recieved from Ser Francesco Dolfin and unnamed accomplices. Ser Stefano was at a bathhouse in Ferraria with a woman named Anzola who he was in love with, but who had had sexual relations with Dolfin for eight years (he had taken her from her husband to his own home for several years even). The victim's servant was driven off and his light put out so that when the victim exited the building he was attacked and given four wounds, three of which were life threatening. Ser Stefano threw himself into the water to escape.

Motive

Competition and jealousy over a lover. Dolfin had an eight year sexual relationship with Anzola and even pulled her away from her husband to live with him. Stefano then fell in love with her and his frequent visits led to him being thrown out of their house and friction. It appears that Anzola left Dolfin for Stefano as she was at the baths with him Dolfin attacked (having learned of what was happening when Anzola's residence was empty).
