Two of these men were identified as Zimirian and Battista Chichian. Quirini sent them to the house of Donà Pilon, who was attending to di Priuli's affairs regarding the purchase. There they attacked Pilon with arquebus fire and the victim was wounded by Zimirian and died quickly. Chichian looked to fire his arquebus at Priuli and kill him as well, but the weapon misfired and the attackers fled. Quirini sheltered them at the end of their escape.
